1. Gene technology. A transport system for delivering genetic material such as DNA to a recipient cell. Examples for vectors are plasmids, bacteriophages and viruses.
2. Mathematics. A mathematical device used for the multi-dimensional representation of physical values. A vector is an arrow with a length and a direction, where the length represents the value's magnitude.
