Chemistry. Chemical element with the symbol Cs. A white-glittering, soft alkaline metal. It reacts violently with water and oxygen. Cesium is used in photocells and atomic clocks. The radioactive isotope cesium-137 (137Cs) is applied in radiotherapy of cancer.
