Medical technology. A technique for detecting and measuring temperature variations on the surface of the body by infrared sensing devices, based on self-emanating infrared radiation.

An infrared camera produces images of the invisible self-emanating infrared radiation of the body. Thermography is used to study blood flow and to detect tumors.
