1. Haematology. An erythrocyte with an abnormal distribution of hemoglobin (a dark centre surrounded by a light band that again is encircled by a darker ring).
2. Immunology. Cell which can be attacked by viruses, T-lymphocytes, antibodies due to specific surface properties, e.g. receptor or antigen.
