ATP synthase

German: ATP-Synthase
Japanese: ATP合成酵素

Enzymology. A large, complex protein that reversibly synthesizes the cellular energy supplier ATP. It is located in the inner mitochondrial membrane of eukaryotes, in the plasma membrane of prokaryotes and in chloroplasts. ATP synthase catalyzes the synthesis of ATP from ADP and phosphate driven by a flux of protons across the membrane.
