• current marks/necrosis
• respiratory paralysis
• fractures/ruptures
• secondary renal failure
• unconsciousness
• neurological consequences (short-term, pain, headache, brain injury)

• long-term consequences (> 1 year): amputation
• cardiovascular effects: arrhythmia, cardiac failure
