The standard specifies minimal requirements for the operation of and all work at, with or near electrical installations. This includes electrical installations of all voltage levels from low voltage to high voltage and includes the voltage levels medium voltage and extra high voltage. The requirements are valid for all operation, installation and maintenance procedures. They are valid for all non-electrical operations, such as construction works in the proximity of power lines or cables and for electrical operations which exhibits an electrical hazard.
