Grinding device

Belongs to:

Angle grinder, Band grinder, Delta grinder, Disc grinder, Eccentric grinder, Grinder, Oscillating grinder, Pendulum grinding machine, Sander, Sanding machine, Side grinder
Description:

A grinding machine is an electric tool for smoothing and polishing of surfaces or to remove coatings from surfaces. Therefore a grinding surface (band, plate, disc) with a suitable roughness is moved along the work piece.

In the following, measurement data of different types of grinding machines (angle grinder, band grinder, oscillating grinder) can be found.
Band grinder use an endless abrasive belt which runs around two rolls (drive roll and deflection roll).
Oscillating, eccentric and delta grinder have a vibrating and sometimes slow rotating pad which is attached with a sandpaper or abrasive.
Angle grinder use a cutting or abrasive disc which is fast rotating. The edge of the disc then is used to treat the work piece.
Pendulum grinding machines are large angle grinders with high power and they are too heavy for a handheld device.

The emitted alternating electric and magnetic fields are mainly caused by the electric motor which is why electric emission can occur also in the kHz frequency region.

Frequency ranges:
  • 50–60 Hz
Type of field:
electric and magnetic
