Statistics. A statistical model which describes the relationship between a qualitative dependent variable (a dichotomous variable which can take only two distinct values, such as the presence or more independent variables. A common application is in epidemiology to calculate the odds ratio (OR) for estimating the risk to develop a disease due to given risk factors.
