Summary

The guideline comprises a general procedure for the assessment of the exposure of workers to electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields for compliance with exposure limits and action values according to the Directive 2004/40/EC of European Parliament. It specifies how to conduct the preliminary assessment of the exposure levels of workers to electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields (EMF), if necessary, including specific evaluation of these levels by measurement and/or calculation, and it determines whether it is necessary to perform a detailed risk assessment in respect of the effects of electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields.
