Neurophysiology. Acronym ABR, EABR, BAEP. Electrical waves in the cerebral cortex generated by brain stem structures in response to auditory click stimuli. The five main waves of electrical activity through the brainstem are denoted wave I (with a latency of 1 ms, auditory nerve potential), and waves II to V (reflecting processing centres in the auditory system).
