Physiology. The fluid excreted by the kidneys, passed through the ureters, stored in the bladder, and discharged through the urethra. It is rich in end products (such as urea, uric acid, and creatinine) of protein metabolism. The fluid and electrolyte homeostasis can be maintained by the production of urine.
