Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying

  • GMSK
German: Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying
Japanese: ガウス最小偏移変調

Communications engineering. A continuous-phase frequency-shift keying modulation scheme. The digital data stream is first shaped with a Gaussian filter before being applied to a frequency modulator to require less bandwidth and to minimize adjacent channel interference. GMSK is used in the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM).
