Study type: Medical/biological study (experimental study)

Preliminary evidence for weak magnetic field effects on mechanosensitive ion channel subconducting states in Escherichia Coli med./bio.

Published in: Electromagn Biol Med 2005; 24 (1): 89-95

Aim of study (acc. to author)

To investigate the effects of weak magnetic fileds on ion channles of the bacterium Escherichia coli

Background/further details

The investigation were carried out on E. coli spheroplasts (these are cells without a cell wall but with a remaining cell membrane).

Main outcome of study (acc. to author)

A clear effect of magnetic field exposure on the the ion channel activity could be observed. However, a exact physical mechanism is still absence.
