electric field strength

  • E
German: Elektrische Feldstärke
Japanese: 電界強度

Electricity. The properties of an electric field are determined by the electric field strength E. The physical quantity expresses the intensity and direction of an electric field. The standard unit is Volt/meter (V/m). The electric field strength can be measured by measurement devices and is for example used to specify the reference levels for limiting human exposure to electromagnetic fields.
