Study type: Medical/biological study (experimental study)

Changes in the peripheral blood of the rat exposed to microwave radiation (2400 MHz) in conditions of chronic exposure med./bio.

Published in: Aerosp Med 1973; 44 (9): 1051-1054

Aim of study (acc. to author)

Possible changes of blood parameters, eye changes, and survival time under hypoxic conditions in rats should be investigated after 2400 MHz microwave exposure.

Main outcome of study (acc. to author)

An increase of body temperature was found for exposure at 50 mW/cm2. At an exposure at 10 mW/cm2 only a slight increase of body temperature, hematocrit and hemoglobin was recorded for the first 20 min of exposure followed by a stagnation for the rest of exposure time. No changes were found in body weight, eye or survival time under hypoxic conditions.
