German: Sinusknoten
Japanese: 洞房結節

Anatomy. A small collection of modified cardiac muscle fibers located at the junction of the superior vena cava and right atrium. The cardiac rhythm normally takes its origin in the sinus node, which thus is known also as the cardiac pacemaker. It generates a rhythm of electrical impulses to cause the heart muscle to contract.
