Binary Offset Carrier Modulation

  • BOC
German: Binäre Offset Frequenzmodulation
Japanese: 二値オフセット搬送波変調

Communications engineering. Modulation of the carrier wave with a square-wave offset signal results in subcarriers above and under the carrier frequency. The information that should be transported is modulated onto the carrier and subcarriers, so that several signals can be transported simultaneously. BOC is used in satellite communication techniques.
