Enzymology. A group of enzymes which catalyze the hydrolysis of ATP into ADP and phosphate coupled with another function such as transporting Ca2+ across a membrane and taking part in muscle contraction. These enzymes may be dependent on Ca2+, Mg2+, anions, H+, or DNA.
