[低強度電磁エネルギーによる心臓機能の変化] med./bio.

Modification of the heart function with low intensity electromagnetic energy

J Bioelectricity 1986; 5 (2): 201-210

The frogs were positioned on a polystyrene surface, restrained at arms and legs by plastic clips, and placed on a table made of RF-absorbing material approx. 90 cm below the open end of a standard gain horn antenna.
The frog's ECG was monitored with a pair of electrodes that were positioned perpendicular to the EF. The exposure pulses were synchronised with the rise of the R-wave or of the T-wave.
Sham exposure A sham exposure was conducted.
Additional information Alternating on and off periods were repeated until the heartbeat ceased. Generally the heart remained active for ten to twelve 10-min periods. Half of the exposures started with EMF off, the other half with EMF on. Two non-exposure conditions were used for control: In one condition, the preparation was shielded from the energy with a piece of RF-absorber, in the other one, the energy was delivered to a dummy load rather than to the horn antenna.

The heart rate of an in vivo preparation can be influenced by exposure to low-intensity pulsed electromagnetic radiation. The exposure has to be for more than one minute to reveal significant effects.
