チャンバの詳細 Tests were made at various locations inside and outside of a Faraday shielded room that was 6 m square and 2.5 m high. Shielding consisted of two welded-seam sheet iron walls 10.2 cm apart.
ばく露装置の詳細 Subjects were seated (usually with their eyes closed) such that they could not see equipment or operator and did not know the exposure conditions. The antenna was a 1 m wire rod monopole supported by a wooden yardstick. It was placed parallel to and 1 m from the upper torso and head on the left side. (Right side, left rear, and right rear were tried but effects were negligible.)
Additional information The dial accuracy of the generators was within 5%.

The results suggest that very low power density radiofrequency can interfere with the normal brain-wave patterns of humans. And if these patterns are meaningful in terms of mood and behavior, then radiofrequency affects these parameters as well. Since the relaxation frequency of protein-bound water is considered to fall between 100 and 1000 MHz, absorptions and quantum effects may be the mechanistic basis for the EEG changes revealed in most of the subjects produced by 10-15 W/cm² CW (continuous wave) radiofrequency energy of between 130 and 960 MHz.
