TEM cell with outside dimensions of 47.7 x 22.8 x 22.8 cm
Two flasks (40 x 105 x 25 mm) were placed inside a vertically positioned TEM cell which was placed inside a cell cultureincubator. The flasks were irradiated by a plane wave with the E-field (1 V/m) tangential to the bottom of the flask.
The distribution of the field inside the layer of blood cells was calculated from the TEM cell input power by using the FDTD technique. The exposure levels were calculated taking into account the averaged value of the field in the blood cell layer, and the field fluctuation was obtained by statistical analysis.
