To study the induction of genotoxic effects in human peripheral blood lymphocytes after exposure to electromagnetic fields used in mobile communication systems.

Chamber TEM cell with outside dimensions of 47.7 x 22.8 x 22.8 cm
Setup Two flasks (40 x 105 x 25 mm) were placed inside a vertically positioned TEM cell which was placed inside a cell culture incubator. The flasks were irradiated by a plane wave with the E-field (1 V/m) tangential to the bottom of the flask.
Additional info For each exposed sample, a control was also established and was kept in the same incubator containing the TEM cell.
