背景:最新の携帯電話機が放射する900から2000MHzの範囲の電磁界は、携帯電話使用者の安寧、注意神経学的パラメータに影響があることが示唆されている。これまでGSMについては多くの研究が行われているが、UMTSに関するものはほとんど行われていない。目的:1950 MHz UMTS (SARは0.1 および1 W/kg) と900 MHzパルス波GSM (1 W/kg)の2種の電磁界を片方の頭側に与えた場合の影響を、視覚誘発電位(後頭部P100)、持続的課題遂行テストの事象関連電位P300、聴覚誘発電位(中央部N100)、オドボール課題中のP300、代表的な行動学的パラメータ、反応時間、誤反応について調べること。方法:被験者は健常で右利きの15人。二重盲検、無作為、交差法の検査手順が用いられた。結果:UMTS群、GSM群のいずれにおいても、測定したパラメータに擬似ばく露群に比較して有意な変化は生じなかった。健康携帯電話使用者に対する電磁界の有害な影響を示す証拠は得られなかった。

研究目的(著者による)

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of both types presented mobile phone electromagnetic fields, 1950 MHz UMTS and pulsed 900 MHz GSM, on event related potentials and cognitive function in human.

詳細情報

15 healthy, right handed, male subjects (aged between 20-35 years) participated. Each subject performed five sessions at 1-week intervals, each at the same day and the same time.
The maximal spatial peak specific absorption rate did not exceed one half of the value of 2 W/kg proposed by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) as the limit for localized exposure.

General information

Each subject performed one training and four exposure sessions at 1-week intervals, each at the same day and time. Computer controlled EMF or sham exposure was applied in a double-blind randomized crossover design.

チャンバの詳細 The recording area was shielded with EMF radiation absorbers, separated by a curtain, dimly lit, and supplied with fresh air. After fixation of the electrodes on the scalp, subjects were seated on a comfortable chair in front of a table with a chin support at a distance of 70 cm to a screen.

Sham exposure A sham exposure was conducted.
