この研究は、TEMセル内の制御された条件下で携帯電話の無線電磁界RF-EMF)のばく露を受けたソラマメの二次側根での小核MN)頻度を測定することにより、RF-EMFの突然変異原作用を調べた。RF-EMFばく露は、915MHz連続波、異なる電力密度(23、35、46W/m2)で、それぞれ72時間与えた。熱量法で測定した比吸収率SAR)は0.4-1.5W/kgの範囲であった。実験は独立的に3回繰り返した。その結果、MN頻度は擬似ばく露群に比べ、最小SARレベルで2.3倍、最大SARレベルで7倍に上昇した、と報告している。

The genotoxic effects of exposure of broad bean seedlings (Vicia faba) to a 915 MHz electromagnetic field should be investigated.

詳細情報

Seedlings were divided into the following groups: exposure to a 1) 1.5 W, 2) 2.3 W and 3) 3 W electromagnetic field and 4) sham exposure. A positive control was conducted.
Three independent experiments were performed and in each experiment 15 root tips and 5000 cells/tip were investigated in each group by different operators.

The micronucleus frequency was significantly increased in all exposure groups (group 1-3) compared to the sham exposure group (group 4). The highest value was measured in group 3, showing a 7-fold higher value than the sham exposure group.
The authors conclude that exposure of broad bean seedlings (Vicia faba) to a 915 MHz electromagnetic field could have genotoxic effects.
