To evaluate the effects of exposure to an electromagnetic field of a cellular phone on serum testosterone and cortisol levels in adult male Syrian hamster.
3 groups were examined (each group n=24): 1) control group, 2.) exposed for 10 days, 1 h daily and 3.) exposed for 50 days, 1 h daily.
ばく露時間: continuous for 1 h/day on 10 or 50 days
|ばく露時間||continuous for 1 h/day on 10 or 50 days|
No parameters are specified for this exposure.
There was no significant difference of testosterone and cortisol serum levels between the control group and the group exposed for 10 days. However, compared to the control group the testosterone and cortisol levels increased in the group exposed for 50 days.
The authors conclude that long-term (50 days) exposure to cellular phones could impair endocrine homeostasis.
