研究目的(著者による)

To study the effects of radiofrequency irradiation emitted from mobile phones and base stations on human hormone profiles.

This study was conducted for six years (blood samples were collected after one, three and six years). 82 mobile phone users (age ranges of 14-22 years (n=41) and 25-60 years (n=41)) were divided into three groups according to their exposure duration: 1) weak exposure (n=19), 2) moderate exposure (n=9), and 3) strong exposure (n=13). In addition, 20 subjects served as negative control.
On the other hand, volunteers exposed to radiofrequency irradiation emitted from base stations (n=34) were selected (age ranges of 14-22 years (n=17) and 25-60 years (n=17)) and living at distances of 20-100 m or 100-500 m apart from the base station. Additionally, 10 subjects of each age range living at a distance of more than 500 m apart from the base station served as negative control group.
Remark EMF-Portal: Confounders were not considered. It is not clear whether exposure data were collected once or regularly during the six years (i.e. whether the exposure was unchanged during the six years). Not clear, how many males and females have been in the groups.
