この研究は、ラット卵巣の原始卵胞の数に対する電磁界の影響を実験的に調べた。4月齢雌ラット(n=16)をばく露群、対照群(各8匹)に分けた。ばく露の方法は、麻酔されたラットを実験者が手で保持し、900MHz放射アンテナを腹部皮膚に直接当てて行った(1日15分間、15日間)。対照群も、放射の無いアンテナを用いて同じ処置を行った。ばく離終了後、卵巣を摘出して組織学的検査を実施した。その結果としてばく露群での卵巣卵胞の数の低下が観察されたと報告している。

The effects of an abdominal exposure of rats to a 900 MHz electromagnetic field on the number of primordial follicles in the ovaries should be investigated.

Primordial follicles represent the primary state of ovarian follicles. They consist of an ovum and a layer of flattened epithelial cells.
Rats were randomly divided into two groups (n=8 each): 1) exposure to the electromagnetic field and 2) sham exposure.
