To study the extent of radiofrequency induced oxidative DNA damage by measuring the level of 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine in mice tissues after 900 MHz mobile phone exposure.

36 mice were divided into an exposure group and a sham exposure group (each group n=18; with three subgroups of six mice each). Tissue samples were taken 24 h after exposure.

All animals survived the whole experimental period and the body weight of the animals did not change significantly at the end of the experiment. Additionally, no statistically significant differences were found in the parameters of oxidative stress.
In conclusion, the data indicate that a 900 MHz radiofrequency exposure did not induce a significant oxidative DNA damage under these experimental conditions.
