The animal exposure cage (total diameter 93 cm, height 33 cm in the center and 24 cm at the periphery) was divided into four compartments (1276.27 cm² each) placed around an inner compartment (1256.64 cm², r = 20 cm) and was made of wood (floor and inner walls) and transparent plastic (lining the floor and outer wall) covered by a galvanised steel net (1.5 x 1.5 cm mesh).
The mobile phone was positioned in the center of the middle compartment, and the extremity of the antenna was in contact with the floor. The animals were placed in one of the compartments, and their distance from the antenna varied from 20 to 45 cm.
